Thursdays 1-3pm, Ages 9-14

September - May

$1000 for 30 weeks

Boys will gather weekly to fellowship with one another as they learn basic survival skills, work hard, serve others, become leaders, and dive deeper into their personal walk with Christ. We will also do weekly Bible studies and narrow in on growing in godly character by learning about and practicing Biblical principles such as courage, wisdom, humility, integrity, responsibility, hard work, and teamwork.

Activities/Skills: fire building, shelter building, wilderness first response knots, map reading, compass navigation, and more. To see complete week by week teaching topics please view the full schedule below.

EXPECTATIONS: Boys are expected to actively participate in all aspects of the program. Boys should be ready to work hard, apply themselves, be team players and contribute to a positive group dynamic. At ROAR, we’re building more than skills—we’re building young men who are respectful, resilient, and ready to lead with integrity.

About the Instructor:

This program is led by Caleb Havanka. Caleb is a trained and certified Wilderness First Responder skilled at teaching and practicing rugged wilderness survival. Caleb attended a Bible school and participated in an outdoor leadership/survival program where he received a Bachelor's degree in Leadership Ministry. During his time in the program, he learned survival skills, led physical training, hiked numerous mountains (including a 69 mile hike in 72 hours), and went on many disaster relief trips including Wilmington, NC (Hurricane Florence), the British Virgin Islands (Hurricane Irma), and Louisiana (Hurricane Ida).

In Caleb’s free time he loves to study history, law, and Scripture, go on hikes, horseback ride, and work on the farm alongside his wife and son. His passion is to share his love for God’s truth with the next generation and to equip young men to boldly proclaim and defend the true message of Christ in this pivotal point in history.
